Greetings from America's Finest City!

The Autumn Classic Tournament invites you to participate in the 26th annual Autumn Classic, to be held October 10-11th, 2009.

For the Open Division, this year's tournament features a two-game round-robin then seeding into a double-elimination bracket based upon the team's win-loss record. This year we will be having a B Division, the C Division and D Division. Each division will then be seeded into double elimination brackets with no teams being eliminated on Saturday night! All teams are guaranteed four games, accommodating as many as 72 teams.

The Open Divisions have been set up as follows:

        B Division - 24 Teams          C Division - 32 teams          D Division - 16 teams

The Women's Division format to be determined based on number of teams in each division.

Games will be played at, Poway Sportsplex, a 3-plex facility in Poway located approximately 20 minutes northeast of the Mission Valley, Hillcrest area; Kit Carson Park, a 7-plex facility in Escondido, located approximately 20 - 25 minutes north of the Mission Valley, Hillcrest area; and Hourglass Park, a 4-plex facility in Mira Mesa, located approximately 10 - 15 minutes north of the Mission Valley, Hillcrest area. Play will be conducted at these designated fields, which are equipped with lights, concession stands and restrooms.

Sorry, NO DOGS are allowed at any of the premises, and alcohol is prohibited at Kit Carson Park and Hourglass Park per city ordinances. These rules will be strictly enforced!!!!!

Registration postmarked:
. $425 per team in US funds (on or before September 11th)
. $450 per team in US funds (after September 11th)

All registration materials must be received no later than Friday, September 25th, 2009. Registration payments are non-refundable and must be made by cashier's checks or money orders, made out to Autumn Classic. (NO personal checks! This will just delay the process for your team)

Please include a complete entry form and roster with your registration OR if you are registering early, make sure to have it submitted by the September 25th deadline!

An entry form is attached to this letter. Should you need additional copies please visit our website at www.autumnclassic.org. You should include a copy of a valid ASA registration card with your entry form and fee. If you are a new team please send a separate check in the amount of $15 made out to ASA to have your team ASA registered. Please note: entry slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so register early.

This year's host Hotel will be the Mission Valley Hilton in Mission Valley. The rate for a single or double occupancy room is $109. For reservations, please call 1-800-682-6099 and ask for the AFC group code or AFCSL Autumn Classic. Or go onto their web site at: www.sandiegomissionvalley.hilton.com and book your reservation direct. When making the reservation please enter AFC into the GROUP box on the booking page. Reservations need to be made no later than September 15, 2009 to get this greatly reduced rate. The block is limited so make your reservations now!!

Registration will be held at URBAN MO's in Hillcrest on Friday, October 9th from 6-9pm and at the fields on Saturday, October 10th. Everyone must register by the end of play on October 10th.

Open Division Format

Teams will play a two game round-robin followed by a double-elimination bracket. Teams will be placed in pools from a blind draw. However, if possible, no two teams from the same league will be placed in the same pool. Teams will be seeded in a double-elimination bracket based upon win/loss record. Women's Division Format

Format/Divisions to be determined based on number of teams in each division. No teams will be eliminated on the first day.

Entry Fee

$425 postmarked by September 11th
$450 postmarked after September 11th in U.S. funds.

Tournament Registration

Will be held at Urban Mo's on Friday, October 9th from 6-9pm. Also, registration will be held at the fields on Saturday, October 10th only. No Registration to be held on October 11th!

Team Eligibility*

B Division: A team whose 2009 NAGAAA player rating** is above 130 and below or equal to 170, based on the sum of the 10 highest-rated players on the team. There will be no limit to an individual player's rating.

C Division: A team whose 2008 NAGAAA player rating** is above 100 and below or equal to 130, based on the sum of the 10 highest-rated players on the team. No players rated higher than a 14 are eligible.

D Division: A team whose 2008 NAGAAA player rating** is less than or equal to 100, based on the sum of the 10 highest-rated players on the team. No players rated higher than a 10.

Women's Division: A team made up of 2009 ASANA-registered players or teams that played in ASANA/ASA tournaments.

        *  Teams coming from a non- NAGAAA/ASANA city will be entertained on a case-by-case basis.

      **   A player's rating is determined by their designation on the 2009 NAGAAA roster or their most recent rating if one was not submitted in July 2009.

Players Without Ratings (Open Division)

For the Open Division only, players without a rating will be asked to complete a player rating assessment form to be filled out by the team manager or coach prior to their team's acceptance into the Autumn Classic.
